Arson charge at Alexandra Headland, QLD

A woman has been charged after a house fire that occurred earlier today at Alexandra Headland, Queensland Police say.

Officer patrolling in Alexandra Headland this morning saw a fire out the front of a house on Tantula Road East at around 10.40am.

Emergency services have then attended and the fire was contained to the garage area of the house.

No one was at the residence at the time and no one suffered injuries as a result of the fire.

Police will allege that the fire was deliberately lit and a woman was taken into custody a short time later.

A 50-year-old Kuluin woman has been charged with one count each of arson and burglary and commit an indictable offence and is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow.
