On the 24th May 2020 police and Tasmania Fire Service attended a structure fire at Unit 1/25 Wright Street, East Devonport. Police Forensics and Tasmania Fire Scene examiners deemed the fire as deliberately lit.
Preliminary estimation of the damage is in excess of $180,000.
An investigation was conducted in relation to the matter involving members of Devonport CIB and Devonport Uniform officers. Three youths, ranging from 13 years of age to 16 years of age have been charged with Arson and bailed to appear in the Devonport Youth Justice Division Court of Petty Sessions at a later date.
