Artists across the City of Whittlesea have reflected on the changes brought on by COVID-19 to our community, our country and our planet for this year's City of Whittlesea art exhibition, New Futures.
More than 80 wonderful artworks will be exhibited in The Great Hall, Council Offices, South Morang Thursday 21 January - 18 February 2021.
Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said artists who live, work or are connected to the City of Whittlesea will be showcased and celebrated at the exhibition.
"Artists of all ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds have interpreted our shared new futures in many ingenious ways so this is an exhibition well worth seeing," Ms Wilson said.
"There are paintings, metal sculpture, papier mache, mosaic, photography, drawings, mixed media works and poetry to name a few of the mediums.
"One glass mosaic depicts people inside a home doing exercises to keep fit during isolation. In some of the works artists have depicted feelings of social isolation. There are works that address major issues including racism, social inequality and injustice. There are artworks about love and companionship."
Covid plans will be in place to keep us all safe and a gallery attendant will ensure visitor numbers are limited to allowable levels at all times.
Admission is free and open 10am-4pm weekdays.
