There's a good reason an Ashmore dad is extra chirpy at work today after discovering his Weekday Windfall ticket delivered him a marvellous $1 million win in last night's draw.
The Gold Coast resident held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4611, drawn Monday 13 October 2025. Each entry scored $1 million.
So far in 2025, there have been 15 major lottery wins in the Gold Coast that have collectively taken home more than $29 million in prize money.
"Oh gosh! I don't know what to say," he exclaimed when we confirmed the bounty.
"I was at work, just going about my day, when I noticed a couple of missed calls and a text message. I thought, 'Hmm, that's odd, what's going on?'.
"I logged into The Lott app and that's when I saw $1 million! Just sitting there. I couldn't believe it.
"This is the kind of phone call you never forget. I'm going to ring my wife right now and tell her - we're millionaires!"
Despite $1 million coming his way, the Queenslander was too stunned to make any concrete plans with his prize.
"Wow, I have no idea, but it's a great problem to have!" he laughed.
"I'm sure this will come in handy."
His winning marked 4-game entry was purchased via The Lott app - the official home of Australia's lotteries.
