Global law firm Ashurst announces the appointment of Terri Mottershead - an internationally recognised thought leader in legal innovation - as Director in the firm's award winning NewLaw division, Ashurst Advance. This strategic hire highlights the firm's continued investment in its Ashurst Advance offering, responding to the growing demand from clients for forward-thinking, technology-enabled legal solutions.
With more than three decades of experience at the forefront of legal transformation, Terri will lead Ashurst's global Digital Enablement team. Based in Brisbane, she will focus on elevating digital and data literacy across the firm drawing on her extensive background in legal practice, legal education, talent development, and the integration of emerging technologies. Her career, which spans private practice, academia, and consulting, positions her to play a pivotal role in Ashurst's ongoing digital transformation, thought leadership and client engagement.

Terri joins Ashurst from the Centre for Legal Innovation at the College of Law Australia, where, as the inaugural Executive Director, she collaborated with legal sector leaders in identifying trends, crafting strategies, and transforming their organisations to meet the demands of a rapidly changing industry.
With her arrival, our Ashurst Advance Digital practice group has grown to a team of four directors. Terri joins Arjuna Guruge, Sarah Chambers and Chris Boulter to enhance Ashurst's expertise across Digital Enablement, Development (Ashurst Labs), eDiscovery & Digital Services, and Digital Experience.
