Police are investigating after a woman on a mobility scooter was attacked and robbed in Eagleby this morning, Queensland Police say.
The 60-year-old woman was travelling in her scooter down a bike path adjacent to Fryar Road near Dongarven Drive when she passed two boys walking in the opposite direction.
One of the boys then struck the woman in the face with a tree branch while the other attempted to steal a bag of medication located in a basket on her scooter.
As the woman attempted to prevent the theft she was struck again in the head with the branch before she managed to flee on her mobility device.
The boys jumped a fence and ran through bushland away from the scene.
The woman was treated for shock and facial injuries before being transported to Logan Community Hospital for observation.
The boys are described as being aged about 17-years-old with a dark complexion and both wearing black jeans. One of the boys was wearing a torn white singlet with a picture on the front while the other had on black headwear which he pulled down over his face.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time on Fryar Road between Distillery Road and Dongarven Drive and have further information to come forward.
