Assault Appeal, Capalaba 9 July

Detectives from Bayside Criminal Investigation Branch are appealing for public assistance to identify a man as part of an ongoing investigation into two assaults at Capalaba on 28 June and 6 July.

On 28 June, between 10:25pm and 10:45pm, a 61-year-old man was walking along Ney Road, before he was approached by a man described as having a dark complexion and wearing a dark hoodie.

The unknown man then assaulted the 61-year-old several times, before fleeing the area on foot. The 61-year-old man was subsequently transported to Redland Hospital for treatment.

On 6 July, around 6am, a 58-year-old woman was packing a trailer on Greenup Street when she was approached by a man, described as having a large build and wearing black gloves and a black face covering.

The unknown man then assaulted the woman, before leaving the area. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detectives are investigating possible links between the two incidents and are appealing for anyone with any relevant information or CCTV/dashcam footage, to come forward.

If anyone recognises the person in the image, they should come forward to police.
