Assault: Appeal For Witnesses, Burleigh Heads

Detectives from Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch are appealing for public assistance as they conduct inquiries into the assault of woman in Burleigh Heads on Friday, 19 December.

Initial information indicates around 5.30pm, a 38-year-old Burleigh Heads woman was walking through Burleigh Heads National Park when an unknown male grabbed her from behind.

The woman was then physically assaulted by the male, before two members of the public, a man and a woman, intervened.

The male offender then fled on foot in a northern direction back towards the look-out.

The woman sustained minor physical injuries as a result of the assault.

Detectives are appealing to the man and woman who assisted the victim to contact police.

Anyone with information, including anyone with relevant footage or dashcam vision of the area around Burleigh Heads National Park and Goodwin Terrace, is urged to contact police.

Investigations remain ongoing.
