Assault appeal, Kippa Ring

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man who may be able to assist with investigations following an assault at Kippa Ring yesterday, Wednesday, September 27.

Initial information indicates at approximately 2.10pm, an 81-year-old man had a brief conversation with another man, not known to him, at a bus stop on Anzac Avenue.

During the interaction, the elderly man was struck to the head knocking him to the ground.

The man then left the scene on foot.

Emergency crews arrived and the 81-year-old man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his mid to late 20s, and was wearing a black shirt, shorts, hat and sunglasses.

Anyone who knows the man, or who has information about the assault, is urged to contact police.
