Assault offences, Surfers Paradise

Queensland Police have charged two men following an alleged assault at Surfers Paradise overnight, January 31.

It will be alleged around 6pm, officers were called to a unit complex on Peninsular Drive following reports of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers located two men near the property and took them into custody.

Two separate men, both in their 40s, were transported to Gold Coast University Hospital.

A 23-year-old Ormeau man has been charged with two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs, grievous bodily harm, and one count of enter dwelling with intent.

A 36-year-old Surfers Paradise man was charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm, and one count of enter dwelling with intent.

Both men were refused police bail and are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today, February 1.

Investigations into the incident continue.
