ATM Cash Transport Thefts

Moonee Valley Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested two men as part of an investigation into the theft of nearly half a million dollars believed to have occurred during the transport of cash to and from ATMs.

The men were arrested early this morning following the execution of two warrants in Mickleham and Dallas.

Detectives launched an investigation into the alleged thefts last week after the matter was reported to police.

Officers have been told of more than 10 incidents where a discrepancy in cash following an ATM run has been identified, between April and July.

The incidents are believed to involve runs to and from ATMs in Melbourne, Tarneit, Keilor Downs, Delahey, Craigieburn, Sandringham, South Melbourne, Clifton Hill, Essendon, Pascoe Vale and Mill Park to the value of nearly half a million dollars.

A 25-year-old from Dallas and a 44-year-old from Mickleham will now be interviewed.
