Attempt murder at Hallett

A man will face court today charged with attempt murder.

About 10.30pm last night (Monday 15 January) police were called to Barrier Highway, North of the township of Hallett, after reports there had been altercation between two men. One of the men had allegedly been hit by a car and assaulted. The two men are known to each other.

The victim, a 25-year-old Hallett man, was taken to hospital before being flown to the RAH for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A 33-year-old Hallett man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with attempt murder. He was refused bail and will appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 16 January).
