Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are hoping to identify three men following an attempted aggravated burglary in Noble Park on Sunday, Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told three unknown men attended a house on Bloomfield Road in a white Toyota Hiace van and parked in the driveway about 3.20am.
Two of the males were armed with a meat cleaver and a firearm.
The trio approached the front door and yelled out to the victim to come out of the house before attempting to force the door open.
A male occupant was home at the time and the males were unable to gain entry and fled the scene in the white van.
The three offenders are perceived to be Asian in appearance.
Detectives have released images of three men that may be able to assist with their enquiries.
