Police responded to reports of an alleged attempted armed robbery in Bracken Ridge last night.
Police will allege at about midnight in Balrothy Street 20-year-old man assaulted a 67-year-old man with a blunt object, demanding his car keys.
Another man allegedly came to the 67-year-old's aid and restrained the 20-year-old until police arrived.
The 67-year-old was treated for a suspected concussion, cuts and bruises.
The 20-year-old Bracken Ridge man was charged with one count each of attempted robbery whilst armed and enter dwelling with intent at night. He is due to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on January 10.
