Attempted armed robbery in Warner, QLD

Police are investigating after an armed man attempted to rob a service station in Warner early this morning, Queensland Police say.

Shortly after 1am the man entered the business on Old North Road and produced a small axe, demanding money.

The 18-year-old male store attendant ran out the back of the shop and locked the door.

The man then fled the scene empty-handed.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late teens or early 20’s and was dressed in long dark clothing.

Anyone who may have seen the man or have further information is being urged to contact police.
