Attempted murder charge, South Brisbane

A 28-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following an argument at West End on Monday evening.

Around 5pm, two men were engaged in an argument at a Crowther Street residence when the 28-year-old man allegedly stabbed a 35-year-old man in the chest and leg.

Police rendered first aid to the man before paramedics arrived and transported him to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene and transported to Dutton Park Police Station.

Once at the police station, the man allegedly became uncooperative and headbutted a police officer who sustained minor injuries.

The West End man has been charged with attempted murder and serious assault of a police officer causing bodily harm.

He has been refused police bail and will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

The pair were known to each other.
