Attempted robbery, South Bank

Police have charged a 21-year-old Surfers Paradise woman following an alleged incident on a train bound for the Gold Coast yesterday (January 11).

Police will allege, at around 5.15pm the 21-year-old woman attempted to take a mobile phone from a 59-year-old woman with violence.

Bystanders came to the 59-year-old's aid until police, waiting at Southbank Station, arrested the 21-year-old.

The 21-year-old woman was charged with attempted robbery with violence and was held in custody to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court later today.
