7 May 2025

AusBiotech, Australia's peak body for life sciences, welcomes the start of AusMedtech 2025, which starts today in Sydney, New South Wales (7–8 May 2025).

AusMedtech, Australia's leading medical technology conference, brings together leaders from across the country's thriving medtech ecosystem. The annual event attracts hundreds of delegates, creating dialogue between industry, government, investors, and academia on the key issues shaping the future of medtech.

Under the 2025 theme Innovation to Impact, this year's conference will highlight medtech's vital role in addressing healthcare needs, improving access to life-saving technologies, and strengthening Australia's capabilities at a time of unprecedented global change.

The Australia's medtech sector continues to be a critical driver of growth within the nation's life sciences ecosystem. With more than 900 thriving companies, the sector is a significant contributor to Australia's innovation, economy, and global reputation in life sciences.

"This event brings the sector together in a powerful way. Our program sparks critical dialogue between leaders across the ecosystem, at a time when collaboration has never been more essential.

"The world is rapidly changing — with issues like shifting geopolitics, supply chain disruptions, and rising health demands — so it is essential that Australia's medtech sector remains unified, resilient, and future-focused.

"Medtech advances healthcare, strengthens Australia's health security, and supports economic growth.

"AusMedtech 2025 is just one of the ways in which AusBiotech works to give Australia's medtech sector a collective voice to help shape its future."

"AusMedtech brings together Australia's best in medical technology to help shape the future of healthcare, not just in New South Wales but nationally and internationally.

"Conferences like this aren't simply about the next new idea, device or technology, it's also about how those innovations are going to change the lives of everyday people and the clinicians who support them."
