Aussie FM Condemns North Korea Missile Launches

Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Australia is deeply concerned by ballistic missile launches carried out by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), most recently on 27 January 2026, as well as on 4 January 2026, 7 November 2025 and 22 October 2025. These actions flagrantly violate multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions and directly threaten the security and stability of the Indo-Pacific.

Australia urges the DPRK to return to full compliance with all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions relating to its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

Australia will continue to work with our allies and partners, including the United States, Japan and the Republic of Korea, to address the threats posed by the DPRK and uphold global peace and security.
