Australia Hosts US Investors to Boost Clean Industry

Dept of Industry, Science and Resources

This week Australia is hosting 13 leading US clean tech manufacturing companies to showcase the immense opportunities in investing in Australian projects.

The Australia-America Clean Industry Delegation reinforces the Albanese Government's commitment to becoming a global hub for clean energy generation and manufacturing, following the Prime Minister's visit to New York earlier this year.

Australia has a wealth of natural resources, a highly skilled workforce, and a clear government agenda, highlighted by our emissions reduction sector plans, to position the nation as a premier destination for global investment. To support these discussions today the Albanese Government is releasing the Investment Blueprint, to accompany Australia's 2035 Target.

The Investment Blueprint responds to growing calls internationally that climate targets be investable, and that nations set out plans to provide greater certainty for investors. The Blueprint emphasizes Australia's position as an attractive and stable investment destination, as our 2035 Target and six sector plans lay the groundwork for long-term investment decision making.

This foreign investment will Australia reach our economic potential by providing capital to finance new industries and enhance existing industries, boosting infrastructure and productivity and creating employment opportunities in our regions.

Over three days, the Australia-America Clean Industry Delegation will meet with senior ministers, government finance bodies, and private investors to explore clean energy opportunities in Australia.

The program includes high-level forums - including a Future Made in Australia Investor Forum - policy briefings, targeted workshops, and one-on-one meetings to accelerate investment and collaboration. It concludes with a visit to Newcastle, offering delegates a first-hand look at Australia's renewable technology manufacturing in action and the potential for investment in Australia's regions.

The $22.7 billion Future Made in Australia agenda makes clear our commitment to a clean energy and advanced manufacturing future. Crowding in private sector and international investment is critical to achieving Australia's climate, energy and industrial goals.

These partnerships will drive job creation and skill development in Australia's outer suburbs and regions, while delivering the renewable infrastructure needed to position Australia as the first choice for clean energy investment.
