Australia Seeks Non-Judicial Executives for New Tribunal

The Australian Government has commenced the search for Deputy Presidents and Senior Members of the new Administrative Review Tribunal (ART), the body that will replace the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).

This is an opportunity for appropriately qualified individuals to make a significant contribution to the most important reform of the federal system of administrative review in decades.

Deputy Presidents will be among the foremost legal experts and leaders in the ART. Senior Members will hear complex matters and also fulfil a range of leadership functions.

Appointments for a term of up to 5 years will be made through a transparent, merit-based assessment process in accordance with the current Guidelines for appointments to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

Member-level positions in the ART were advertised in September and the assessment process for those positions is now underway.
