This week I will travel to Japan and the Republic of Korea to strengthen our trade ties, promote Australia as a renewable energy superpower and discuss cooperation on economic security.
The Australian Government is seeking to deepen our trade, investment and energy security engagement with Japan and the Republic of Korea - two of our top five trading partners.
Both countries are key partners in our efforts to recover from economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, build lasting regional stability and support the decarbonisation of the global economy.
During my visit I will meet with key government and industry leaders to explore the significant potential to grow and diversify trade and investment in the agribusiness, education, renewable energy and critical minerals sectors.
In Tokyo I will co-chair the fourth Ministerial Economic Dialogue with Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, HE Nishimura Yasutoshi.
I will also deliver the keynote speech at 59th Australia-Japan Joint Business Conference and attend a series of events to promote Australian tourism as we welcome Japanese visitors back to Australian shores.
In Seoul I will co-chair the inaugural Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Trade Ministers' Meeting with Minister for Trade Dr Ahn Duk-geun.
I will also be joined in Seoul by a delegation of Australian critical minerals businesses, and will join with Minister for Trade, Industry and Energy Lee Chang-yang to lead a critical minerals industry roundtable as our countries work to develop secure commercial supply chains.
