Australian Idol's Jake Carlson to Perform at Community Youth Fest

Get ready for an electrifying celebration of youth and music at the upcoming City of Whittlesea Community Festival.

Headlining a stellar line-up of talented performers, Mernda's own 20-year-old Australian Idol sensation Jake Carlson, is gearing up to rock out the youth stage at the festival on Sunday 17 March.

Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson is thrilled Council is showcasing local talent such as Jake at the festival.

"It's fantastic to witness the depth of local talent in our community and to be able to host Jake at the Community Festival is truly special," Lydia said.

"Events such as these are a great way to see amazing local performances, and we are proud to be able to provide a platform for young talents to shine and inspire the community."

Mernda resident Jake Carlson is making waves in the music scene, captivating audiences not only with his impressive vocal abilities but also with his inspiring journey in music therapy. His unique blend of talent and purpose is aimed at using music therapy to make a meaningful impact on individuals' lives, especially those with special needs.

Jake shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming performance.

"Performing for my local community is about bringing people together through shared experiences, one song at a time. It's my way of connecting with and giving back to the community that I cherish."

The excitement doesn't stop there; the festival has a mind-blowing showcase of local talents that will set the stage on fire at the Youth Zone.

Performances include emerging pop sensation Noah Calderan, the soulful vibes of Odin M, the rock and folk-inspired Sam Curtis, the dynamic ukulele trio Luna The Moon, the captivating tunes of Norwood, the electric sound of Ellis Ares, and the unmistakable indie rock tunes of Lucid Aux.

The Youth Zone, which has been designed by young people aged 12-25, will not only be a stage for live performances but will also feature an array of engaging and free activities, including a rock-climbing wall, slushies and popcorn, giant games, henna tattooing, and a photobooth to capture the day.
