One of Australia's favourite storytellers, Kate Forsyth will discuss her latest historical fiction, The Blue Rose and what motivates and inspires her at a free author talk in Campbelltown in August.
Forsyth has sold more than 1 million books worldwide and is an accredited master storyteller with the Australian Guild of Storytellers.
In 2015, she won the American Library Association Award for Best Historical Fiction for her novel Bitter Greens and is a five times Aurealis Award winner.
She wrote her first novel at the age of seven and has had a long fascination with the French Revolution which she has used as one of the backdrops in her latest book.
The Blue Rose follows the impossible love story between French aristocrat, Viviane and the Welsh gardener David and was inspired by the true quest for a blood-red rose that blooms even in winter.
Forsyth's novel also depicts historic events including the first popular uprising of women in the world, the women's march on Versailles and China's refusal to trade with Britain except on their own terms.
The free author talk will be held from 2.30pm, Wednesday 21 August at Campbelltown's HJ Daley Library.
