Award winning writer to visit Echuca Library

Acclaimed Australian crime writer, Mark Brandi, will be visiting Echuca Library on Tuesday, 3 September to talk about his newly released book The Rip and award winning and bestselling novel Wimmera.

Library Services Manager Jenny Mustey said the community will have the opportunity to meet the Melbourne writer and gain insight into his inspiration behind the award winning novels.

"Mark is a criminal justice graduate, and has worked extensively in the justice system before changing direction to focus on writing novels," Ms Mustey.

Mark's best-selling novel, Wimmera, has won a series of awards including the coveted British Crime Writers' Association Debut Dagger, Best Debut at the 2018 Australian Indie Book Awards. The novel was also shortlisted for the Australian Book Industry Awards Literary Fiction Book of the Year, and the Matt Richell Award for New Writer of the Year.

"His new novel The Rip will hook you in and have you on the edge of your seat. You won't want to put the book down due to the way it delves into the world of drugs, crime and the challenges of life on the streets," Ms Mustey said.

"We invite community members to attend the author visit and meet the man behind some of the best crime novels of our time," Ms Mustey said.
