Eastern Region Crime Squad members have charged three men and recovered more than $160,000 in stolen baby formula and vitamins in Laverton yesterday (30 August), Victoria Police say.
Detectives received a report of a burglary at a Ricketts Road warehouse in Mount Waverley on Wednesday night.
A large truck containing 15 pallets of baby formula and vitamins was allegedly located in an industrial area of Laverton early yesterday morning, allegedly linked to the Mt Waverley burglary.
Three men were arrested at the scene and interviewed in relation to a number of burglaries.
A 36-year-old Ardeer man has been charged with 12 burglaries, a 31-year-old Newport man has been charged with six burglaries and a 23-year-old St Albans man has been charged with two burglaries.
The Ardeer and Newport men will front Ringwood Magistrates’ Court today.
The St Albans man has been bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 7 February, 2019.
The investigation was part a major investigation to a series of large commercial burglaries across Melbourne since April.
The burglaries have occurred in Point Cook, Burwood, Springvale, Port Melbourne, Preston, Mount Waverley, Clayton and Bundoora.
