Backing small businesses with FREE education workshops

The Hills Shire Council is giving local business owners a boost, with an exciting range of FREE workshops that will help them take their business to the next level.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Peter Gangemi encouraged business owners to take advantage of Council's Business Education Series, which is run by talented and experienced professionals.

"We want our business community to thrive," Mayor Gangemi said.

"Our Business Education Series is one way we are supporting new and established businesses to upskill, set goals and achieve their dreams.

"I highly encourage our business community to book into one or more of these FREE workshops, which will provide you with a wealth of knowledge to make better informed business decisions," Mayor Gangemi added.

Business workshops that are available include:

For new businesses:

How to Start a Business – Thursday, 2 February:

This workshop will cover the basics of starting a business, including registration and creating a business plan.

For established businesses:

HR and Recruitment for Beginners – Wednesday, 1 February:

This workshop will focus on the importance of establishing HR functions within your business.

Strategise Your Business Growth – Thursday, 16 February:

This workshop will explore how to plan for and utilise your business growth.

Plan and Structure your Marketing – Wednesday, 29 March:

This workshop will focus on developing a marketing strategy and how to measure the outcomes of that strategy.

In addition to these workshops, Council also invests in a range of initiatives to support local businesses, including data that tells business owners more about The Hills region, industries and The Hills' demographics.

New and established business owners can also book a one-on-one meeting with Council's Economic Development team who will provide FREE personalised support, including navigating government requirements, understanding licence permits and government regulations and so much more.

"Small businesses are the backbone of this community, and they are the key to keeping people working and our economy moving," Mayor Gangemi added.
