BANJO: The Musical is coming to the Leeton Roxy Community Theatre this Friday, 27 February 2026. Created by Tim Maddren, WAAPA graduate and former member of children group Hi-5, BANJO is a fantastic mix of Banjo Paterson's poems, Coldplay's music, and contemporary dance, creating a raw, modern, and honest journey of love, connection and sacrifice.

Written and starring Tim Maddren in partnership with Got Ya Back Productions theatre company, BANJO sets Paterson's life events against new Australian dance and contemporary music. Teaming up with his wife, stellar dance choreographer Steph Maddren (So You Think You Can Dance, Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby), the pair have developed an intimate acoustic arrangement of Coldplay favourites, which will feature heavily throughout the show.

"In addition to the general public performance, Tim and other BANJO performers will also be delivering a fantastic education workshop the same day which will give students the opportunity to gain unique insight into how artists from different disciplines, such as acting, dance and live music, collaborated to bring BANJO to life," said Manager Roxy Theatre Emma Di Muzio.

"Further, Tim and the cast will be performing 'The Man from Snowy River', providing students the opportunity to complete their HSC research essay without needing to travel to Sydney!"
