Banyo Station Reopens After Accessibility Upgrade

Queensland Rail is pleased to announce Banyo station will reopen on Monday 26 May 2025 enabling customers to once again catch the train from their local.

The station temporarily closed in January 2024 for major construction works as part of our Station Accessibility Upgrade Program and now, the new look Banyo station boasts fully raised platforms, an overpass connected by lifts as well as additional accessibility features and amenities.
Banyo station's carpark will remain closed while the site is packed down and will reopen in coming weeks.
There will also be some additional ongoing works, including final touches being undertaken on the bike enclosure which will be ready for the public to use in the weeks following the station reopening.
A modernised rail network transforms the travel experience for Queensland Rail customers and whether you're using a wheelchair, pushing a pram, or carrying luggage, our upgraded stations are designed to make every journey easier and more accessible.
We thank our customers and the community for their ongoing patience during challenging construction conditions, including battling the impacts of Mother Nature and complex site geography.
We look forward to welcoming you back to Banyo station.
Please note that due to testing of the European Train Control System (ETCS) signalling system for the Cross River Rail project, there will be a closure on the Shorncliffe line from 2 - 5 June that will impact Banyo station and all other stations on the line.
