Bayside Council's second Creative Industries Forum brought together local artists, performers, and creative professionals, highlighting Council's ongoing support for the region's growing creative industry.
Held at the historic Botany Town Hall on Thursday 30 July, the forum featured a day of inspiring discussions and networking opportunities, with industry leaders who have chosen to live and work in Bayside sharing their experiences and insights.
The event provided valuable perspectives from a diverse range of creative professionals, including theatre operators, performers and musicians, artists, designers, filmmakers, and photographers.
Bayside Mayor Edward McDougall welcomed attendees and outlined Council's continued commitment to supporting the local arts and cultural sector.
Guest panellists included Matt Levinson, Committee for Sydney; Simon Chan, Director, Art Atrium; Erin Taylor, CEO, Australia Plays Transform; Gary Bigeni, Fashion Designer; Megan Riakos, Filmmaker; and Lyle Ah Sam, Soul Reign First Nations.
Attendees also took part in a textile workshop led by Leah Giblin and enjoyed a guided tour of Botany's Creative Precinct, including visits to Claypool and Art Atrium.
The forum concluded with a performance by the Bardwell Valley Ramblers, an acoustic band from Bexley known for their blend of traditional folk and country music.
