Bayside City Council Ends Free Rapid Antigen Test Distribution

The state government has notified Victorian councils that the free Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) distribution program will cease once existing Council held supplies are exhausted.

We will distribute the remaining RAT kits to our community through Bayside Libraries and the customer service counter at the Bayside Corporate Centre in Sandringham until stock runs out. Please feel free to collect multiple kits if required, however it is important to note they have a February 2024 expiry date.

Please do not attend any Bayside City Council facilities or services if you are unwell or have COVID-19 symptoms.

Since the program began in October 2022, Victorian councils have distributed over 4 million Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) to their communities. The availability of free RATs has been crucial in ensuring that people have access to quick testing to keep themselves, their families, and their communities safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Where to get RATs after Council held supplies are exhausted

You can buy RATs at supermarkets, pharmacies, and other retailers. You should plan ahead by keeping some at home for testing if you have COVID-19 symptoms.
