Bayswater Hit-Run Collision Leaves Man Critically Injured

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information and for a driver to come forward following a hit-run collision in Bayswater this morning.

Police have been told a man was sitting in the middle of Boronia Road, near Lewis Road, when he was struck by a car about 3.10am.

The 23-year-old man from Narre Warren, has been taken to hospital with suspected critical injuries.

The driver involved didn't stop at the scene and fled in the damaged vehicle.

Witnesses have told police the sedan was travelling at speed at the time of the collision.

It is expected Boronia Road will be closed for some time while MCIU detectives process the scene.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or with information about the driver to come forward.
