Science and creativity will be on display in Tassie pubs and theatres this month as part of the 10th Beaker Street Festival.
Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Roger Jaensch, said Beaker Street Festival has grown into one of Australia's leading science festivals and supported Tasmania's growing reputation as a year-round visitor destination.
"The Beaker Street Festival provides visitors with another reason to experience Tasmania during the cooler months, supporting our tourism and hospitality operators and creating flow-on benefits for local businesses," Minister Jaensch said.
"The Festival is a great example of Tasmania's ability to deliver unique experiences that connect visitors with our people, our places and our world-leading science community."
The Beaker Street Festival will feature more than 70 events across Hobart and around Tasmania, including in the Styx Valley, Triabunna, Burnie, Launceston, Penguin, Tasman Peninsula, Ross and Richmond.
A major feature of this year's program is the Hobartica Precinct, transforming the waterfront into a polar hub of science, art and ideas, with immersive experiences, performances and conversations.
"Hobart is Tasmania's gateway to Antarctica and the Beaker Street Festival provides an opportunity for locals and visitors to celebrate that connection," Minister Jaensch said.
"Through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, our Government is supporting events like Beaker Street that drive visitation, support our economy and deliver a strong calendar of events."
Beaker Street Festival runs from 6–17 August 2026 around Tasmania.
