Become TNFD Adopter

Dept of Climate Change, Energy, Environment & Water

The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), Responsible Investment Association Australasia, Australian Sustainable Finance Institute, and Business Council for Sustainable Development Australia are inviting Australian organisations to become TNFD Adopters ahead of the Global Nature Positive Summit (Summit). Becoming a TNFD Adopter is a commitment to getting started with TNFD-aligned reporting.

The TNFD is a global initiative which has developed a risk management and disclosure framework and guidance, to support organisations to report and act on their nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities.

A commitment to nature positive outcomes

Both the Summit and the TNFD support accelerating collective action to contribute to nature positive outcomes. The Summit is the perfect opportunity for companies to showcase nature positive leadership on a global stage, and commit to reducing their negative impacts on nature and doing more to protect and repair our environment.

The TNFD announced the names of the first group of TNFD Early Adopters in January 2024. The next Australian cohort of TNFD Adopters will be officially announced at the Summit in October 2024.

In good company: TNFD Adopters

By signing up as a TNFD Adopter, you'll join more than 400 organisations across the globe that have already committed to making TNFD-aligned disclosures.

Thus far, 15 Australian organisations from different sectors have already made this commitment, including four ASX200-listed companies:

  • Brambles
  • The GPT Group
  • NEXTDC
  • Telstra

The full list of Australian TNFD Adopters is published online, along with guidance on registering as an Adopter.
