BetEasy Million Dollar Fish Season 5 now open

The biggest BetEasy Million Dollar Fish competitionto date opens today, giving anglers more chances than ever before of takinghome the elusive $1 million catch.

The fifth season will see a record number of 126 Barramunditagged with a cash prize, including six fish carrying the red $1 millionjackpot tag.

The new season also includes 100 red-taggedBarramundi worth $10,000 each, as well as 20 purple-tagged charity fish worth$5,000.

The tagged fish have been released into waterwaysacross Katherine, Kakadu, Arnhem Land, Darwin and the Tiwi Islands, encouragingpeople to visit and explore the Territorys world-renowned fishing spots.

As Australias richest fishing competition, MillionDollar Fish brings thousands of fishing fanatics to the Territory each year andprovides a significant boost to the local tourism industry.

Season 5 of the Million Dollar Fish competitionwill run from Tuesday, 1 October 2019 through to Tuesday, 31 March 2020.

Once the $1 million fish is caught and verified,the remaining five Barramundi with $1 million tags will then become $10,000fish.

If the $1 million fish is not caught within thecompetition timeframe, all six fish will remain active post-competition betweenTuesday, 31 March 2020 to Wednesday, 30 September 2020, with the first to becaught awarding the participant $1 million.
