An upgraded oval and new pavilion are just some of the planned improvements for Stringer Road Reserve, in Blairgowrie.

Mornington Peninsula Shire has developed a draft concept plan for Stringer Road Reserve, and we'd like to know what you think.

The plan includes improved sporting facilities to accommodate the growing needs of junior football, women's football and cricket.

Two tennis courts are proposed to be resurfaced with one of the courts to include a half basketball court, providing more recreational options for the community.

A new play space for children of all ages and a BBQ area will create a place for the community to gather and entertain – something we can all look forward to again.

This is one of the projects we're working on to encourage increased participation in sport and recreation across the Peninsula.

The draft concept plan proposes:

  • upgrading the oval to better accommodate local sporting clubs
  • a new pavilion to service the oval
  • resurfacing the two existing recreational tennis courts
  • a new play space and BBQ area
  • upgrading existing trails in the reserve, including SLIPS Bushland Reserve
  • realigning the road to improve the link between the sport and recreational areas in the reserve
  • protecting existing vegetation.

Community consultation is an important part of the planning and design process and we encourage you to take part by providing your feedback.

Council will consider comments to ensure the design meets the needs of the community and user groups.

Community consultation is open until 5pm on 9 December 2021.
