Responding to Hong Kong's renewable energy initiatives, the Bishop Hall Jubilee School commissioned a rooftop solar project with 144 pieces of LONGi 350W Hi-MO X modules, with total capacity of 50 kW. The project was successfully connected to the grid on August 14, 2019, making the school the first in Hong Kong powered by solar.

LONGi won the competitive bid for the supply of solar panels with its new generation, high efficiency, innovative Hi-MO X. Widex Solar is responsible for the development and construction of the project, which is registered for the Hong Kong Renewable Energy Feed-in Tariff. The project will produce 57,000 kWh of electricity and reduce 28,500kg of carbon emission per annum, equivalent to the consumption of 160 households and 1,240 trees planted respectively. The feed-in Tariff is projected to generate HK$230,000 in annual revenue.

"Through the project, the School will improve students' social conscience by providing them with opportunities to promote environment education inside and outside the School," said Ms. Wong Lee Lee, President of the Bishop Hall Jubilee School.

"This project adopts the most advanced solar products in the PV industry, including the most innovative shingled Hi-MO X from LONGi," said Mrs. Maria Leung, Widex's Chief Executive Projects Director.

In land-scarce Hong Kong, solar projects are mainly rooftop applications deploying high efficiency modules. With its sleek appearance and high power density, Hi-MO X perfectly compliments Hong Kong's solar roofs.

Besides Bishop Hall Jubilee School, LONGi's Hi-MO X has been adopted in various other projects in Hong Kong, notably in Li Po Chun United World College and Oceanic Industrial Park. LONGi Hi-MO X is also the module of choice in several overseas projects and in China's Top Runner scheme, which requires the highest efficiency solar modules.
