UH-60M Black Hawks arrived in Townsville last month from Sydney and Oakey for training activities with Chinooks and Apaches.
Tasked with providing an air assault capability, the Black Hawks worked closely with soldiers from the 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment.
Commander of the 16th Aviation Brigade, Brigadier Fern Thompson, said it developed the skills of aircrew and infantry.
"We support the soldiers on the ground, so it is essential that our personnel have a level of readiness, confidence and integration with the 3rd Brigade - which is a world- class fighting force in its own right," Brigadier Thompson said.
"Our Black Hawks, along with our CH-47F Chinook helicopters, generate the Australian Army's air assault capability. They enable us to move personnel and generate tempo across the battle space.
"We wake up every day ready to support the soldier.
Whilst the Black Hawks were not based out of Townsville, residents should expect to see them visiting regularly.
"I want to personally thank the community for their ongoing support as we continue to train our people," Brigadier Thompson said.
"The 16th Aviation Brigade is a proud part of this community, and we are absolutely honoured to call Townsville home."
As part of Project Land 4507, 40 UH-60M Black Hawks are being delivered to the Army.
