Black spots on three roads in the Rockhampton region are being improved thanks to more than $3.5 million in funding.
The Albanese Government has made the funding available to Rockhampton Regional Council as part of the 2025-26 Black Spot Program.
Denham Street Extended in West Rockhampton, Razorback Road in Moongan and the intersection at Dean and Elphinstone Streets in Berserker were all selected for works under the program.
Works have been completed at Denham Street Extended, where upgrades estimated at $567,000 delivered a single-lane mini-roundabout at the intersection of Denham and Eton Streets, a centre median on the curve between Pennycuick and Harrow Streets, improved lighting at intersections, new line marking and a reduced speed limit throughout the area.
Works on Dean Street began in April, with Razorback Road works expected to be underway in coming months.
The Black Spot Program targets high-risk road locations where crashes have occurred or are at risk of occurring.
Under the program, the Albanese Government funds measures such as traffic signals, roundabouts and other safety treatments to reduce the likelihood and severity of crashes.
