Blinken Meets with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met today in Abu Dhabi with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Secretary underscored the importance of urgently addressing humanitarian needs in Gaza and thanked the UAE for its extensive contributions to deliver humanitarian assistance for civilians. Secretary Blinken emphasized the importance of preventing further spread of the conflict and stressed continued U.S. commitment to securing lasting regional peace that ensures Israel's security and advances the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The Secretary and Sheikh Mohammed discussed the importance of ending the conflict in Sudan and preventing further widespread civilian harm. They affirmed their shared vision of a more secure and prosperous region and underscored the importance of the strategic partnership between the United States and the United Arab Emirates.
