The Blue Mountains ANZAC Memorial District Hospital upgrades are a step closer, with construction to commence in the coming weeks following the appointment of the contractor.
The NSW Government has invested $25 million to deliver essential upgrades to the existing Blue Mountains Hospital and commence planning for a future redevelopment.
The appointment of Taylor Construction marks another step forward in delivering enhanced facilities to support contemporary models of care and improve the healthcare experience for patients, staff, and visitors.
Upgrade works will include enhancements to:
- the Emergency Department
- Ambulatory Care services
- Inpatient areas; and
- Critical building infrastructure including roof repair, lift replacement and air conditioning systems.
All works will be carefully staged to minimise the impact on hospital operations, ensuring services continue with minimal disruption to patients, visitors and staff.
As part of the upgrades, the Central Sterilising Service was completed earlier this year.
Works to upgrade the existing Blue Mountains Hospital is expected to be completed in 2026.
Planning for the future of Blue Mountains Hospital is continuing to progress.
