  • New and extended appointments bring experience from the business and community sectors
  • Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan today announced the new and returning faces for the Mid West Development Commission, including the reappointment of Chairperson Todd West until June 2020.

A board member since July 2017, Mr West has a wealth of expertise in small business and is a strong advocate for regional issues and opportunities.

The Minister has also reappointed current board member Carole Minney until the end of 2019 and appointed new member Craig Patterson

Mr Patterson was instrumental in the establishment of the Bayalgu Indigenous Pre-Employmet Training Program, an Aboriginal pre-employment initiative, and previously served as President of the Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

As the Managing Director of civil and earthmoving company Centrals, Mr Patterson continues to have a hands-on role in day-to-day operations, focused on building lasting opportunities for local Aboriginal groups.

As stated by Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan:

"Under Todd's leadership for the past two years, the Mid West Development Commission has continued to encourage development for infrastructure, tourism and the local economy - his reappointment will see that work continue.

"Carole has proven to be a valuable member of the board, committed to delivering regional development outcomes for Aboriginal people and the smaller communities in the region.

"Craig's extensive business experience and passion for the region will be important in growing the region's economy while progressing Aboriginal economic development.

"I want to thank outgoing member Jeffery Calver for his dedication and expertise over the past three years - his service was instrumental in creating opportunities for the Mid-West."
