Body found in Alice Springs

The body of a man who drowned in a local water hole has been found by police divers today.

Family and friends told police the man had gone into the water at Ellery Creek Big Hole and failed to resurface, late yesterday afternoon.

A police dive team from Darwin travelled to Alice Springs to search for the man, whose body was found around 12.20 today.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
