Body Found in Winston Hills Murder Search

Strike Force investigators have located a body during an operation in Sydney's west, as part of the ongoing search for a woman allegedly murdered earlier this month.

On Tuesday 9 June 2026, officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command commenced an investigation after concerns were raised when a 58-year-old woman failed to return home.

Family members last heard from the woman about 4:50pm on Monday 8 June 2026, when she said she was going to meet a relative in Winston Hills.

The following morning, about 9:30am on Tuesday 9 June 2026, her vehicle was found on Dodson Street in Winston Hills, prompting police to launch a search and establish Strike Force Dizek.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 34-year-old man, at Tomerong, about 20km south of Nowra, on Thursday 11 June 2026. He has since been charged with her murder and remains before the court.

About 2.30pm on Sunday 21 June 2026, investigators, with assistance from officers attached to the Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit, the Rural Fire Service, State Emergency Service and Volunteer Rescue Association, located a body in bushland near Mt Banks Road, Mt Banks, in the Blue Mountains National Park.

The body is yet to be formally identified; however, is believed to be that of the missing woman.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
