
Steady progress has continued at Bombala and Cooma pools over the past several weeks, with major milestones expected for both upgrade projects in the month ahead.
Following the delivery of pump and filtration equipment in August, Council expects to award the filtered water treatment contract shortly with work to commence within the next few weeks.
Bombala Pool updates
- Roofing and plumbing works continue, with new roof sheeting and structural steel installed and the rough-in plumbing works also now complete
- New filtration equipment, pumps, diving blocks and pool lane anchors delivered
- A defective pool drainage sluice valve was replaced ahead of pool test filling
- Main pool has been filled for testing and leak monitoring
Coming up in September at Bombala Pool
- Building, plumbing and electrical work continues
- Completion of new shade structure designs
- Filtered water treatment works to begin
Cooma Pool updates
- Construction works continued
- Construction of blockwork complete
- Plumbing and drainage works proceeding well
- Driveway and emergency exit path complete
- New electrical main distribution board installed, awaiting connection to the grid
- Main pool has been filled for testing and leak monitoring
Coming up in September at Cooma Pool
- Building, plumbing and electrical work continues
- Further Essential Energy works scheduled
- Electrical work and new shade structure on track for completion early in the month
- Filtered water treatment works set to begin
Council will be able to provide an estimated reopening date for Bombala and Cooma pools once the filtered water treatment contract is awarded and work has begun.
