Labor is ensuring Victorians have the skills, confidence and opportunity to succeed in the digital economy.
Minister Tierney visited the Chisholm TAFE in Frankston today for the signing of a new Victorian Digital Skills Compact.
It's a shared commitment between government, industry and training providers to open new doors into digital careers and strengthen the digital skills of our workforce.
It has a focus on increasing opportunities for women, First Peoples, people with disability and regional Victorians.
Industry will work with TAFEs and our adult and community education sector to build and enhance the digital and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities of teachers and students across TAFEs and Learn Locals.
Digital technologies are reshaping every industry, from health care and logistics to finance, manufacturing and creative industries.
By 2035, Victoria will need 87,700 additional digital workers, and workers in all industries will need digital skills.
Victoria is leading the way in preparing workers for the digital, AI and technology jobs of the future.
The Victorian Government's AI Mission Statement sets a bold vision for Victoria to lead the nation in the responsible and ethical adoption of AI - driving innovation, prosperity and opportunity for all Victorians.
The Chisholm TAFE was a fitting venue for today's announcement. It will be home to a $30 million Digital, AI and Technology Centre of Excellence, funded by the Albanese and Allan Labor Governments.
