Boosting Visitor Numbers at Seymour's Light Horse Memorial Park

There is even more reason to visit one of Mitchell Shire's most popular landmarks after the completion of the Australian Light Horse Memorial Park Activation Project.

In addition to its historical importance as a military training area, the Park plays a pivotal role in Seymour's open space network, offering a diverse range of recreational opportunities for both visitors and residents of Mitchell Shire.

Thanks to $405,000 from the Victorian Government's Regional Tourism Investment Fund and $135,000 from Mitchell Shire Council, the project has successfully delivered a broad range of enhancements including:

  • new walking trails
  • picnic shelters
  • park furniture
  • a waterside platform
  • interpretive information and signage
  • improved parking and road access
  • and landscaping improvements.

These upgrades not only enhance the overall experience for visitors but also contribute to the broader appeal of Seymour and the surrounding region.
