Bayside Council confirmed, at its March Committee Meeting, an ongoing commitment to the Botany Swim Club and the Club's continued presence and Council support when the new Botany Aquatic Centre reopens.
Council also agreed to uphold all existing agreements with the Botany Swim Club relating to pool access and on-site storage that have been in place since the former centre's inception.
Council's resolution confirming the Botany Swim Club as a community user group will be incorporated in the operational plan for the new centre that is currently being developed.
A user agreement recognising the Club's historical use and access arrangements will be finalised with the Botany Swim Club before the new Botany Aquatic Centre opens, with additional terms to be negotiated to reflect the expanded, year-round operation and new facilities at the new aquatic centre.
