Boy charged following Point Cook incident

Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a Kew boy following an alleged aggravated burglary in Point Cook this morning, Victoria Police say.

Police were called to an address on La Coruna Gardens about 3.40am to reports of a male entering a property with a weapon.

A 40-year-old male resident of the house sustained a non-life threatening injury during the incident and was treated at the scene.

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with four counts of aggravated burglary, theft, attempted theft of motor vehicle, recklessly cause injury, unlawful assault, assault with a weapon and commit indictable offence while on bail.

He is due to appear at a children’s court.

During the arrest attempts a police officer discharged a firearm.

No one was injured and as per standard procedure when an officer discharges their firearm, Professional Standards Command will investigate
