Boy charged following Tallygaroopna crash

A 15-year-old boy has been charged following a crash in Tallygaroopna this morning (5 December), Victoria Police say.

Investigators believe an allegedly stolen vehicle crashed into a pole on Zeerust School Road about 4am.

A 23-year-old man from Mooroopna, believed to be a front seat passenger, was seriously injured in the collision.

The injured man was airlifted to a hospital in Melbourne. He remains in a serious condition.

The Mooroopna boy was charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury, hit run offences and theft of a vehicle.

He has been remanded in custody and will face a children’s court at a later date.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who saw a white sedan driving erratically in the Shepparton area at the time of the collision or any witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers.
